I finally found the details of my Grandfather Daniel Robison's Death and made a new Mullen contact in Michelle Morgan a descendant of my Grandmothers sister Elizabeth. I hope we can open a few more doors.
In November 2009 we visited Marjorie in Arbroath and met her Daughter Sarah and her Son Paul who has perhaps the youngest Schofield on the Planet. In a busy month we also visited Woodhorn in Ashington and found more information about John Robson (Robinson) b 1799 and his parents. MAGIC. I have also got a lot of Gilfellon info from Lyn Holmes so they are the main addition this time.
January 2009 - I joined the Northumberland & Durham Family History Society, Sheena and I visited Newcastle to do some research. We also visited Tynemouth and North Shields where we found and visited James Robison's grave in Preston Cemetry. I also bought a book "Tynemouth We Thy Sons" that mentions the streets where he grew up but I couldn't find anything about him or his son Daniel as Sub Med HERBALISTs - whatever that is!

The research behind the family history presented here was begun in the late 80's when Mum first contacted her cousins Hetty and Arthur to obtain information on the Schofields and Larkins. Not a lot was achieved at that time but in 1997 prompted by the release of the film "Titanic" Mum renewed her investigations as legend had it that her Aunt Kate had survived this tradegy.
After signing the visitors book on the Titanica website I also got involved when contacted by a researcher who was going to write a book about the incident and its survivors. Mum got Kates birth certificate from Longford and there followed a series of emails which disputed the birth date of Kate. The guy doing the research finally contacted Kates daughter in New York and sent us her address. We wrote her a letter but never received a reply, Mum was quite disappointed. It was not until 2008 when I was contacted by Bernie Mullen that we found out why and sadly Mum never lived to hear the tale. Kate was in fact the daughter of Thomas Mullen the brother of her Grandfather James Mullen.

Mum done lots of work on the extended family researching the Schofields, Larkins, Robinsons and Maguires and established lots of the basis facts. Her cousins Arthur & Hetty gave a lot of information on the Schofields & Larkins. My sister Theresa and I helped when we could but it was Mum's project. So we would have a good background Theresa convinced her to get a Laptop where she could record the information she found and write down some of her memories. She never really got to grips with the computer but done a great job writing her life story which she entitled "Early Days" this is displayed on our website. Theresa even got my Dad to have a go at his story, but he wasn't for the computer so wrote it down with Theresa typing it for him. Dad didn't get as much written as Mum and was sadly taken from us before it was completed, but what he did write is also displayed on our website.

I retired in 2005 and moved to Scotland soon after and one of my goals is to get as much of the Family History together as possible. Sheena my partner has also caught the bug and has ammassed a very large file on her (Lambie) ancestors. We took out a subscription to a geneology site and spend many hours (especially in the winter) scouring the records.

During my journey I have become aquainted with new family members who have contributed greatly with facts, certificates and photographs. I am endebted to them for their contribution and have listed them all below. Hope I didn't miss anyone out.

But before I do I must thank Sheena for putting up with me being "In the Office" for hours on end because What began as a hobby has developed into a compelling passion.
